Through the Future High Street Fund and Stronger Towns Fund, the derelict former prize bingo and amusement arcade will be demolished to make way for new public realm space.
After successfully acquiring the former amusement arcade on North Bondgate, planning consent has been granted to demolish the building to make way for new public realm improvements in its place.
A mixture of both soft and hard landscaping will provide a clear link to Fore Bondgate and North Bondgate, encouraging footfall to the town centre. Kiosk space for Street Food sellers will also be created as part of the scheme.
Demolition of the site will start on the 24th July 2023.
The project is due to be completed by March 2024.
