The Bishop Auckland Masterplan underpins plans for Bishop Auckland that are the result of £53 million in funding from the Government — on top of ongoing private investment. The money will be spent on 16 projects to support a revitalised town that is attractive and interesting. A Better Bishop Auckland for everyone.
The town will be reinvigorated by exciting leisure venues and transport improvements, better parking facilities and more jobs and skills for young people. Improvements inside and outside the Newgate Centre and the creation of a new bus station will provide necessary and impressive new facilities and public spaces for people to enjoy.
